NopeLock was born out of a moment that many travelers quietly fear—but few talk about. In 2022, our co-founder Cathy was staying at an Airbnb when her night took a turn she’ll never forget. The host mistakenly entered her room late at night. It was an honest misunderstanding, but it shook her sense of safety. She didn’t sleep for the rest of the night—and she realized just how vulnerable we are when we’re away from home.
That moment sparked a mission: to create a simple, reliable way to take back control of personal space while traveling.
Cathy teamed up with Marcus, a close friend with a background in product design and logistics. Together, they developed NopeLock—a portable door lock that installs in seconds, passes airport security checks, and works globally across hotels, rentals, and dorms. Crafted from durable stainless steel and designed to be carried in your pocket, NopeLock gives travelers what they deserve most: peace of mind.
Since then, NopeLock has helped protect thousands of people around the world—from solo travelers and students to digital nomads and parents. Because safety shouldn’t be a luxury—it should be a given.

Cathy is the heart behind NopeLock. After a sleepless night in an Airbnb where a landlord accidentally walked in, she knew something had to change. From day one, she’s been on a mission to help travelers sleep with peace of mind, anywhere in the world. Cathy oversees everything from customer emails to product testing — and still packs orders when things get busy.

Marcus - Development &Support
Marcus joined Cathy early on, turning her idea into a real, secure, TSA-approved product. He handles product engineering, supplier coordination, support emails, and even writes the FAQs when needed. With a background in problem-solving and a passion for simplicity, Marcus makes sure NopeLock stays reliable, durable, and user-friendly.
